The West Forsyth Wolverines will participate in the State Wrestling Duals in Macon Jan. 16 and 17 after clinching the Area Championship. After a slow start against Creekview High School, the Wolverine grapplers rebounded with a great effort in the semifinal match against White County and came out on top with a 37-28 victory. Reice Thompson won the final bout of the meet in an exciting match. In the championship finals against Lumpkin County, the Wolverines started fast and never looked back. After building a 24-0 lead, the team mathematically clinched the Area Championship when Matt Hatcher won his match at 160 pounds. The final score of the dual was 45-27.
