Johns Creek man provides lead to catch UGA hiker slayer

JOHNS CREEK – For five months, Johns Creek resident John Tabor carried a loaded .45 caliber pistol on his side at all times.It was an extreme but necessary measure, a sliver of comfort from the fear of being stalked by a confirmed killer.Tabor's tormentor? Gary M. Hilton, the 61-year-old drifter and confessed murderer of 24-year-old Meredith Emerson, She was the University of Georgia coed who went missing after a New Year's hike at the Blood Mountain in Union County.
