The High School outlook on prom

Picture this: you waltz into an elegant ballroom, dressed in a Cinderella-esque flowing gown, a handsome escort by your side, and the approving looks from dozens of your glittering peers. Ever since you were a child, this "picture-perfect" evening has been imprinted into your brain as the "one night that will live within you forever." Your high school prom expectations have been formed your very first descriptions of that "magical and unforgettable evening." Naturally, this tidbit of knowledge has come from those slightly past the age of a high school student who likely had memorable experiences at their own proms.
